Whether bitcoin ever is viewed as a legitimate currency is important on several fronts. Venture capitalists are watching its growth and examining whether it would be a more efficient way to conduct business internationally than global currencies that are being constantly devalued, said Nicholas Colas, chief market strategist at ConvergEx.
