Banking On Bitcoin: Why Americans Are Pinning Their Hopes On Alternative

There is a worldwide movement of 'Community Currencies' emerging, which is likely to benefit from, and advance forward the good work started by bitcoin. These alternative forms of payment come with the possibility to kick-start local economies and encourage communities to solve their own problems. Businesses will soon be able to sponsor and support such activity, simply by accepting these currencies in exchange for their own goods and services, particularly excess stock or spare capacity. Trading in such currency will give these businesses the opportunity to be visibly recognised by consumers as net contributors to community. This i believe will provide them with a distinct competitive advantage.
