An Edmonton retailer is taking a bold cyber step forward, becoming what is believed to be the first bricks and mortar business in Alberta to allow customers to pay for purchases with Bitcoin, a virtual currency growing in popularity despite its wild swings in value. Coffee house Remedy Cafe started accepting Bitcoins on Friday. “The feedback is very positive," owner Zee Zaidi told CTV Edmonton. “It's a little hard for me to do accounting, but we'll figure all that out.” But for customers who are using it, it’s just simpler than other traditional methods of payment. "It's very convenient, very fast and you don't have to carry money around with you," Bitcoin-user Bryce Belseth told CTV Edmonton.
