Bitcoin scarcity is a feature, not a bug. As for why you would sell an asset guaranteed to go up in value? The simple answer is time preferences (the idea that we can’t just sit around delaying our consumption forever) – imagine going to a coffee store and saying “haha! look at these fools paying $3 for a coffee, don’t they know that it will only cost $2.90 tomorrow?”. Yeah, I thought not – those people at the cafe don’t want a coffee tomorrow, they want a coffee
