There’s good news for the bitcoin exchange Mt. Gox, which had been plagued by distributed denial-of-service attacks earlier this year: It can now pay for DDoS protection in bitcoin. Getty Images That’s possible because Baidu /quotes/zigman/97715 /quotes/nls/bidu BIDU - widely touted as the Google of China – now accepts the virtual currency for its security service called Jiasule, according to a press release . Baidu’s bitcoin wallet shows that 21 transactions have been completed, according to a link provided by the website CoinDesk . It appears that the acceptance of bitcoin at Baidu is limited to its Jiasule service, which provides firewalls and protection against DDoS attacks, several reports said. Mt. Gox said in April it was under “constant” DDoS attack , around the same time that interest in the virtual currency surged.
