What would I use bitcoin for?

Which leads me to my initial question. What would I use bitcoin for? Certainly not as a storage of wealth (for that we have other currencies that are rather stable and strong such as the Swiss Franc or the Swedish Krona). Certainly not for heavy transactions (as I don't trust its infrastructure and there is no liability for the merchant). I would just use for simple, rather risk-less and quick online transactions. For example to buy a subscription to an internet service for a few bucks or the like. So, will Bitcoin overcome its current challenges and establish itself as the the true digital currency of the people of the world? I surely hope so, but its current state certainly leaves me skeptical.
