Bitcoin company says debit cards coming in two months

BitInstant says it expects to launch the first bitcoin-enabled debit card within the next several weeks. If a New York City Bitcoin startup has its way, there will soon be a much easier way to transfer the cryptocurrency between the digital world and actual, usable, real-world fiat cash. In an IRC chat with Ars on Tuesday, Charlie Shrem, the co-founder of BitInstant , said that he hopes this new system , set to open "within two months or so," will make it easier for ordinary people to use Bitcoin. The company has already started a signup page on a public Google Doc . "This will be our foray into the real world," he added, "not just Bitcoiners."
