Samantha kindly offered us a glass of wine, and introduced us to Janet Estep (head of NACHA), Paul Trozzo from PNC Bank, a friendly Banker of America named Dennis, and the CEO of Brazil’s interbank payment network (CIP), Joaquim Kavakama. With Joaquim, we discussed Brazil’s “boleto” system, which enables relatively easy payments between individuals and companies. BitInstant has plugged into this Boleto Bancario system via our partner, ZipZap, and has thus been able to help Brazilians easily acquire bitcoins for the past few months.
