and there is no way in hell they would go for a legal minefield like bitcoin. i'm not sure what legal problems they would run into. it doesn't seem all that different from from accepting a payment from a chinese citizen's visa which is denominated in yuan. there are services now that will instant convert the btc payments from customers into usd. so reddit inc wouldn't actually have to hold any btc, it simply opens up payment choice to redditors. i know there's the silk road connection; but people buy drugs with USD as well. And honestly, most of the btc economy is just weird geeks who have money to spend and likely a good target to expand reddit gold.
