It's turning into a #bitcoin kind of day. More discussion on Reddit:

It's good to see open-ended communication. Pragmatically, there's no way to avoid the traditional financial system right now. The danger in this is that fiat-based systems are like a quicksand foundation - the rules can change at any time. By making use of Bitcoin alongside fiat, Balanced can both offer an additional service as well as protect itself from what is effectively currency vendor lock-in. When used exclusively as a wealth transfer system, exchange rate volatility is a negligible risk. If a pool is needed, that's a somewhat different story. No matter what path is chosen, Balanced's services are valuable. It would be good to have the flexibility and resiliency to structure them atop various currencies.
