It's not that simple. The only fair way to calculate a dollar figure is to convert each transaction at the time it occurs. (Which would require some programming. Maybe BlockChain would like to implement this?) For example, there might've been 1,000 BTC donated when the price was $2. Those coins shouldn't now be valued at the current rate – $13.50 – especially since they might've been spent when they were received.
