Last Friday and Saturday we were host to Rails Girls. Once started in Finland, Rails Girls is now a global, non-profit volunteer community aimed to give tools and create a community for women to understand technology and to build their ideas. We decided to join with a few girls from Mangrove ourselves too, for two fun days of sketching, prototyping and basic programming. Friday evening we started with an 'Installing Party'. With pizza, beer & live music everyone installed Ruby on Rails on their machines so we could kick off right away on Saturday morning. It was also a good way to know each other and to meet the coaches who would guide us the next day. And all the sponsors brought lot's of swag to fill up our goodie bag.
