Getting Started with Django - Django is like the Python version of "Ruby on Rails" let me know if you get stuck!

First, you’ve done most, if not all, of Zed Shaw’s excellent Learn Python the Hard Way . This implies that you have a terminal and editor that you already like and trust. Learning an editor, the terminal for you computer, and a new language is not something to do while learning a framework. These videos will still be here when you get back, so go familiarize yourself with those tools and Python first. Second, you’ve worked through the official Django tutorial , the one where you build the Polls app. While it’s not necessarily a great “real world” application, it explores a large amount of Django and is a great basis to start this series on. Finally, you have both Vagrant and VirtualBox installed for your OS. They’re both free and easy to download and install.
