I'm really excited about this. I participate a lot in a quasi-popular framework where we've been using SMF and now Vanilla and neither seem quite as simple as we want. Integrating IRC-style chat, mailing lists, and forum functionality is brilliant. We have that all fragmented right now and it's a nuisance. Right now most of our discussions have moved over to github, which is fine for us, but not for people using the framework. I should say: I'm really excited about this but if it doesn't work somewhat-painlessly with other forum DB structures then we won't be using it and I'd be surprised if it gets widely adopted. As much as I like the look of it, neither I nor anyone else I'm working with is going to mess with massaging ~48k posts and ~4K users into something new, especially since we're all more oriented towards graphics than databases.
