Storyful is looking for a Ruby on Rails software engineer who will join an agile team developing, deploying and maintaing core products and features. This is a great opportunity to be part of Storyful’s pioneering work in the future of news. We’re looking for a developer who works with large datasets from a multitude of web sources to deliver the wisdom in the crowd to our newsroom staff and clients. You must have several years of development experience with a focus on HTTP APIs and data analysis. Required: - 3+ years Ruby on Rails and Ruby experience - Excellent understanding of HTTP - Solid understanding of PostgreSQL/MySQL - Solid understanding of XML and JSON - Proficient with git - Proficient in Unix-style operating systems - Proficient in RSpec - Understanding and use of social media Optional: - HTML , CSS and JavaScript - Puppet, Chef or similar deployment tools - H...
