A Quick Start Guide to creating Android apps using Ruboto #jruby #android #ruby @MrRuboto

Ruboto allows you to write programs for Android devices simply and easily using the JRuby language rather than the much more complex and wordy Android Java. Android applications run in a Dalvik virtual machine (VM). The Java source code you write does not run as Java bytecode. Instead, the Android toolkit converts Java bytecode into Dalvik bytecode. These converted files, which have the .dex extension, are packaged in the application that you deploy to the device. By the time the device runs your program, there’s no Java bytecode left.
