After several late snowstorms, it feels like spring has finally arrived. And that means young critters are coming out of their dens for the first time! Nicole and I have been studying a red fox family: mom, dad, and their five new pups. When it's time to come out and play, it's non-stop running, jumping, and wrestling as they practice the skills they'll need for life on their own. A scavenged tennis ball rolled down the hill makes for a fun game of catch the "prey".
