Thanks for the review, Peter. And all the comments that followed. I can't say I am surprised that many Ruby programmers dislike The Book Of Ruby. I take a very clear approach to programming which is at odds with the preferences of many Ruby programmers. I have outlined my approach here: http://www.bitwisemag.com/2/Programming-With-Style Bear in mind that I've been programming for about 25 years or so now and, in that time, I have developed some pretty strong views. My overriding goals in programming are clarity and maintainability.
