It is said Rails is the killer-feature of Ruby because it made creating web applications so easy. Some people see it that way, some do not. Rails uses CoC (Convention over Configuration), this way if you do not need any special files (such as XML hell), instead by just placing files in certain locations and following certain patterns your app "Just Works". Rails will provide you with a very simple interface to write your application. For building simple CRUD (Create, Read, Update, Delete) applications, Rails is super-fast with all the generators . For more complex applications, because all developers have to follow the basic guidelines and conventions, Rails may help you to create a more maintainable application.
