Quick Script to Roll Your Own DynDNS

I recently got a Raspberry Pi, and am using it as a home server. I want to be able to shell into it from anywhere, but my ISP sporadically changes my IP address. In the distant past I had used the free DynDNS service for this, but they no longer have a free offering - it starts at $40/year. So, I thought why not roll my own DynDNS with AWS Route53. It turns out someone else had already done this using shell scripting and aws-cli, so I decided to translate it over to ruby with the aws-sdk gem. If you have a domain with DNS in Route53, this is a great and cheap (<$1/month) solution! Here's my script: https://gist.github.com/micahbf/dcd90bf72ca99ffa64c0 Throw it in a crontab (I have it running every minute) and you have yourself a dynamic domain name pointing to the server it's run from!
