Back to Ruby for a day - 13 Days left at the App Academy

Ned began class today with a short lecture on using audio in iOS. We didn’t dive into core audio, which covers a lot more low level functionality, but instead went over the AVFoundation framework, which is designed to make the recording and playback of audio easy. All you have to do is specify where to store the audio file as well as a few audio settings, such as sampling rate, and you’re good to go. We also learned about nsbundle which is a class that handles the bundling of an apps compiled files plus it’s assets. Class was a lot quieter than usual today as the final push towards demo day began. There is exactly 2 weeks left and all of that time will be devoted to building apps to show off what we’ve learned.
