September 25, 2012 Comments (View) Hidden gems: suspenders There are a lot of gems out there. This is a great problem to have, but this paradox of choice is overwhelming for everyone. Not a day goes by when we don’t ask, “which of these three gems do I use for …” The solution: suspenders . It is three things: a set of gems that we use on every project, some common code that we use everywhere, and an app generator to tie it all together. Install it First we’ll install it, then you can look around while this blog post explains more. This will install gems with C code, which means you need your OS set up for that. On Debian you need rubygems and build-essential ; on OS X you can use the laptop script.
